How to Make a Youth Sports Banquet Program

A banquet program is the one thing every family takes home. This free starter opens in BoboCreate, so you can type your team, roster, awards and a note for every player, then print it as a folded booklet.

Both downloads are the free edition. The editable file opens in BoboCreate Desktop.

The editable file imports in BoboCreate Free 0.3.19 or later. It uses one of Free's three design places, and its own artwork does not count toward your three uploaded images. Older versions of the app need BoboCreate activated to import it, so update BoboCreate first.

The free starter has a 4-page program and four planning sheets: a banquet timeline, an every-player planner, a run of show and a thank-you tracker.

Every name, award and note is its own text box. Nothing is baked into the artwork, and no league or team logos are included.

Paste the roster

Numbers, players and positions are three columns, each one text box: paste one entry per line and they line up with the table rows. The roster holds twenty players. Text does not flow between pages, and repeated team or event details must be edited everywhere they appear.

Write a note for every player

Recognize every player by name with one specific note about effort, growth or kindness. Coaches decide the awards and the reasons; describe what a player did rather than a statistic.

Keep the page count in fours

A folded, stapled booklet needs 4, 8 or 12 pages. Use spare pages for memories and autographs or a sponsor thank-you.

Print it as a booklet

Export the PDF from BoboCreate. BoboCreate does not automatically impose pages for a folded booklet. At home, open the exported PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader and print with Booklet, both sides, binding left, flipping on the short edge, then fold and staple. At a print shop, send single pages and ask for saddle-stitched 5.5 × 8.5 in booklets.

What the full collection adds

The premium collection adds a 12-page program with a welcome and run of show, season highlights, seniors, coaches and volunteers and sponsors; covers for football, basketball, baseball and softball; three certificates; and a welcome sign, table cards, thank-you cards and teammate ballots. Download and install BoboCreate Desktop for Mac or Windows.
Download the free `free-sports-banquet-starter.bobo` file.
In BoboCreate, choose Open or Import and select the file.
Type your team, roster, awards and a note for every player; check every name twice.
Export a PDF and print it as a booklet (both sides, flip on the short edge) or send it to a print shop.

The free source is for your own team. Do not resell or redistribute the design. Print children’s names and photos only with their families’ permission. Physical printing of this edition has not yet been tested.
