How to Make the Free Color-Your-Own Halloween Treat Box

The free Color-Your-Own Treat Box is a complete 2-inch cube with a tuck lid, drawn for coloring. Open the editable file in BoboCreate or print the PDF.

Both downloads are the free edition. The .bobo file opens in BoboCreate Desktop. The online editor saves changes on this device and exports PDF, JPG or PNG; it does not create a .bobo file.

The editable file imports in BoboCreate Free 0.3.19 or later. It uses one of Free's three design places, and its own artwork does not count toward your three uploaded images. Older versions of the app need BoboCreate activated to import it, so update BoboCreate first.

Children color the flat sheet first, then a grown-up helps cut, score and fold it into a box that holds about 8–10 small wrapped candies.

The full Treat Box Builder adds a gable handle box, a pillow box, a popcorn carton and a haunted house, with painted art and matching tags.

Print at true size

Print on US Letter cardstock (65–80 lb cover) at Actual Size / 100%, never Fit to Page, and measure the 1-inch square before cutting.

Color, cut, score and fold

Color the pictures on the flat sheet, cut the solid lines, score the dashed lines and fold them away from the print. Glue the tab inside the ghost wall, close the base and fill.

Treats and safety

Home-printer ink and paper are not food safe: fill the box with individually wrapped treats. Small candies and punched paper circles can be choking hazards for children under 3.

Open the .bobo starter in BoboCreate Desktop to change the lid message or the tags, then print your own PDF at 100%.

Print the template on cardstock at Actual Size / 100% and check the 1-inch square.
