How to Host a Murder Mystery Party: Free Guide and Checklists
A murder mystery party is easier than it looks. This free printable guide walks a first-time host from three weeks out to the reveal — and works with any murder mystery game.
Both downloads are the free edition. The .bobo file opens in BoboCreate Desktop.
The editable file imports in BoboCreate Free 0.3.19 or later. It uses one of Free's three design places, and its own artwork does not count toward your three uploaded images. Older versions of the app need BoboCreate activated to import it, so update BoboCreate first.

The invitations are editable in BoboCreate, or you can write on them by hand.

Cast with care
Give the bigger parts to guests who enjoy talking. Nobody should have to act: reading a character’s lines aloud is enough.
Print without spoiling it
Print at actual size, single-sided; sort by the footers; seal each act’s evidence and the solution. If you want to play too, print without reading.
Open the editable template in BoboCreate
- Download and install BoboCreate Desktop for Mac or Windows.
- Download the free `free-murder-mystery-hosting-guide.bobo` file.
- In BoboCreate, choose Open or Import and select the file.
- Type your details on the invitations.
- Export a PDF and print what you need.
