How to Customize Free Handwriting Spacing Practice

Many children know their letters but squeeze words together or let letters float off the line. This free starter works on exactly that, in ten-minute sessions.

Both downloads are the free edition. The .bobo file opens in BoboCreate Desktop.

The editable file imports in BoboCreate Free 0.3.19 or later. It uses one of Free's three design places, and its own artwork does not count toward your three uploaded images. Older versions of the app need BoboCreate activated to import it, so update BoboCreate first.

It uses no tracing font and teaches no particular letter shapes — use the ones your school teaches.

Every run-together line and prompt is editable text in BoboCreate Desktop.

Open the editable starter

Import the .bobo into BoboCreate Desktop. It is one four-page design with two pictures (the cover and a small pencil header), so it uses one of the Free plan’s three design places.

Make the lines your own

Replace the run-together lines with words your child is learning, and keep the worked example as a model.

Practice, then check

Print US Letter at Actual Size or 100%. Ten minutes at a time is plenty. The premium lab adds a four-week plan and a before-and-after sample.

Open the editable template in BoboCreate

1. Download the free PDF or the editable .bobo.
2. Import the .bobo into BoboCreate Desktop if you want edits.
3. Preview all four pages.
4. Print and practice for ten minutes.
