What the free template includes
- The Studio Toolkit page: cell names, the fold test for mirror lines and the tracing test for turns
- 6 investigations across all three levels: a mirror tile, a pinwheel turn test, floor tiles, a quarter turn, quadrilateral mirror lines and a full-symmetry square tile
- 3 worked answer pages with the reasoning, a common misconception and the transfer answer for each investigation
Predict, build, then test
Each page gives the starting cells, lines or shapes. Students predict first, build the design, and then test it: fold along the dashed mirror line, or trace the design and turn it about its center.
Print at Actual Size
Print on US Letter paper at Actual Size (100%) so the grid cells stay large enough to shade. Students need a pencil, a ruler and tracing or thin paper; colored pencils and classroom scissors are optional.
In BoboCreate you can edit the text and layout before you export a PDF. Keep the answer pages for the adult.
